The military's control over legitimate resources pushes the populace towards the criminal underworld, creating opportunities for foreign drug dealers.
Divided Earth: Honkies and Crackers
Earth is a divided planet, inhabited solely by two factions of white people, Honkies and Crackers, who adhere to a strict, traditionalist 'MAGA lifestyle'. All other humans have migrated to Mars. The two factions are nearly identical except for their music preferences (Country for Honkies, Bluegrass for Crackers), which serves as the primary source of identity and violent conflict. All inhabitants work in oil and gas, with other goods manufactured by robots or imported from Mars. Society is deeply patriarchal, with women considered property.
