Connect an AI Assistant to Your Worlds

Nanowrit Labs runs a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so AI assistants like Claude can work directly with your worlds — reading your characters, story elements, treatments, and productions, and (with your permission) helping you create and edit them, right inside a conversation.

Server URL https://mcp.nanowritlabs.com/mcp

Add this as a custom connector in your AI assistant. You'll sign in with your Nanowrit Labs account and approve access — no API keys to copy or paste.

Connect in Claude

  1. Open Claude's Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Paste the server URL above and save.
  4. Sign in with your Nanowrit Labs account when the authorization window opens.
  5. On the consent screen, optionally check Also allow editing to let the assistant make changes, then approve.

Then try: "List my Nanowrit Labs worlds."

What it can do

Read

  • Worlds, characters, and story elements
  • Relationships between elements
  • Treatments, business details, and productions

Edit (only if you allow it)

  • Create, update, and delete story elements
  • Link and unlink elements
  • Update treatments, business details, and productions

Access & safety

The assistant can only see worlds your account can already view, and can only edit worlds you can already edit. Editing is off by default — you grant it explicitly on the consent screen, and you can revoke a connection at any time from your AI assistant's settings. Access uses the standard OAuth 2.1 flow; there are no long-lived API keys to manage.
